President Donald Trump announced that the Heritage Foundation’s Stephen Moore has withdrawn from consideration for the Federal Reserve Board.
Moore has drawn Senate opposition to his nomination due to years-old columns he wrote for the National Review. His withdrawal follows that of Herman Cain, who asked not to be nominated following fallout from past allegations of sexual harassment.
The two seats on the Fed board remain open. National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow has said the White House continues to interview other potential candidates for the Fed.
