Romero Rainey Talks Sheltered Harbor in New Video

Rebeca Romero Rainey

Sept. 11, 2018 — A new video from ICBA President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey spotlights Sheltered Harbor, the financial services sector’s initiative to protect against natural disasters and cybercrime.

Romero Rainey notes that Sheltered Harbor allows participating institutions to archive customer account data in the Sheltered Harbor standard format, stored in a secure data vault. If a cyberattack or other catastrophic event causes an institution’s critical systems and backups to fail, a restoration partner can access the data to ensure customers have access to their accounts as quickly as possible.

A non-profit subsidiary of FS-ISAC, the organization is devoted to coordinating the development of the Sheltered Harbor standard, promoting adoption across the industry, supporting implementation, and ensuring adherence.
