OCC’s Otting Named FHFA Acting Director

President Donald Trump named Comptroller of the Currency Joseph Otting to become acting director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency upon completion of current Director Mel Watt’s term on Jan. 6. Otting will serve until a permanent director is confirmed. Trump previously announced his intent to nominate Mark Calabria—chief economist to Vice President Mike Pence— to be FHFA director.
