ICBA: Banks Should Be Model for Privacy Framework

ICBA advocated a voluntary privacy framework as a first step to safeguard entities without a regulatory structure.

Responding to a National Institute of Standards and Technology request for information on developing a privacy framework, ICBA explained the many legal and regulatory requirements banks must follow with respect to privacy and data security requirements.

These existing requirements should be given the highest weight and serve as a model for other industries, ICBA wrote.
